Images of what might be Mercedes’ anticipated S-Class Pullman are previewing the future pinnacle in Daimler’s luxury product line.
Mercedes-Benz is expected to reveal the Pullman later this year, targeting especially well-heeled people who prefer to ride in the rear seats of their car rather than actually driving. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed, the Pullman might measure as much as 21 feet long and is expected to cost up to a cool million in its most endowed configuration. The passenger compartment is supposed to offer seating for four people facing each other with a partition dividing the front and rear areas for privacy.

A version of the 6.0-liter bi-turbo V12 that powers the S600 will probably make it under the Pullman bonnet with at least 532 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque. Of course, those are the specifications for the engine as assigned to the normal wheelbase S-Class and Mercedes might choose to tweak it for more power to compensate for the much heavier vehicle.
The Pullman model isn’t the only upper crust S-Class derivative that Mercedes is plotting, either. Along with the stretch limousine style vehicle pictured here, it also plans to resurrect its Maybach brand as a more luxurious, long wheelbase version of the S-Class that would sit between the base sedan and Pullman products.
